Solar power to light up Rims next year

The Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims), Ranchi is all set to become the first state-run hospital to run on solar energy. Jharkhand’s largest tertiary healthcare institution (RIMS) has been identified by the Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Authority (JREDA) to be covered under the Union renewable energy ministry’s Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM) for promoting solar power. A five megawatt (MW) rooftop solar plant will be set up on the building, allowing the institute to fulfil its daily power requirements on its own.
