Though cut from the same cloth, the eldest in the next generation of the Munjal family has taken a divergent route from his predecessors. A staunch advocate of reversing the ill effects of climate change, Rahul Munjal is quickly gaining prominence in the green economy and already has India’s largest rooftop solar installation and first certified commercial green bond to his name. Inspired by his father who founded what was to become world’s largest two wheeler maker–Hero MotoCorp, the junior Munjal is hoping his venture would be as successful in its own way.

US-based International Finance Corporation (IFC) has clinched an agreement with the Madhya Pradesh government for an ultra-mega solar plant to be set up with a capacity of 750 MW in Rewa district of the state.

India And France Launch Global Alliance To Boost Solar In 120 Countries

Launching an international solar alliance of over 120 countries with the French president, Francois Hollande at the Paris COP21 climate summit, Prime Minister Modi pledged India’s assistance of $30 million for the initiative and stated that the move aims to bring solar energy into people’s lives and homes by making it cheaper, more reliable and easier to connect to the grid.

Lanco to set up 100 MW solar unit in India

In addition to the existing solar power-related manufacturing units at Chhattisgarh SEZ, Lanco Infratech Ltd is planning to set up a 100 MW solar cell manufacturing plant which is expected to be the first such poly-silicon and wafer manufacturing facility coming up in India.
