Tariff determined for solar power producers

The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has entered into a contract for 25 years with the private solar power producers at a fixed levellised tariff of $0.09 per unit. This information was given by Minister of State for Power, Coal & New and Renewable Energy, Piyush Goyal, in a written response to a question in the Rajya Sabha. Goyal informed the house that the government had determined the fixed levelised tariff of $0.09 per unit after the distribution companies expressed their willingness to purchase solar power at the price that was fixed.
